Why can’t the same or worse be said of Gov Cuomo? He imposed triple zeros on over 300,000 state and city workers beginning with the 230,000 strong CSEA under the threat of layoffs, a tactic he learnt from seeing how shamefully John Samuelsen caved to similar threats from the MTA in 2010.

For transit workers, 35 years of hard-fought recovery from the loss of the loss of Tier 1 and 11 pensions in the early 70’s, came to an abrupt end and was reversed by Gov Cuomo’s imposition of a Tier 6 pension across the state in 2012, tripling employee contributions to the pension system, effectively imposing a 4% pay cut on them all.
Is John Samuelsen representing Transit workers here? Or Gov Cuomo? Is this part of his agreement with Cuomo – take DeBlasio down? Not that we say defend him. We say talk straight and not be a hound dog for the Gov.
