Women have been working for the MTA for close to 50 years and nothing much has changed with their conditions.
Women still have no light duty work for pregnancies and is expected to work up to their 9th month, full duty. As a result of no light duty work, women who are pregnant have to use sick time to compensate for being pregnant.
The end result due to the sick time usage, women are being overlooked for promotions to advance their career.
This is one of the only companies in America where having a baby can be a major detriment to your career. This is only one of many issues that will be present to the MTA on March 25th at 9am
