We must remember next contract what the Governor has done to us by having no mercy for our health, our family’s health and our wellbeing— all in the name of service.
During this Coronavirus outbreak Cuomo has ordered us to come to work, while telling others to stay home. MTA Chairman Pat Foye mentioned that we have to keep service going because we have to take the NYPD, FDNY, Teachers, Nurses, SDNY, etc all to work. Coincidentally all those titles make more money than us, have better work conditions and better healthcare.
Cuomo and Foye both exhibited the power of us Transit workers. For some reason our labor leaders have yet to exercise our power to show them why we deserve way more than what we settled for.
Look what we have to deal with now for only 9.5% raise over 4 years.
Don’t forget our emergency room co-pays will go up to $100 on May 16th, 2020 in the midst of this uncontrollable virus.
This is why it’s important for our Local 100 leadership to go for the gusto every contract and not settle for peanuts like they did the last 10 years.
Without Transit Workers this city would not move and now we are seeing it.
Everyone stay safe and do what’s best for you and your family.
