With MTA workers already behind in wages and struggling to keep up with the cost of living compared to other city agencies, waiting for 5 years top pay will be a struggle. Now imagine not knowing you will reach top pay and the contract states exactly that.

New hires that are apart of the false 5 year wage progression to top pay, it’s time for you all to start paying attention.
There is nothing in the contract that states when you will reach top pay. It’s stops at 5 years 90%. If the MTA decides to exercise what’s in the contract agreement, you will be stuck at 5 years 90% for a very long time. At the end of the day in arbitration the parties are bonded by the direct language in the contract.
WHAT DOES THE CONTRACT ACTUALLY STATE
Below is the actual contract language from the ratification of the 2014 contract. As you can see, there is no language in the contract that states when new employees will reach top pay.
THE SUPERVISORS CONTRACT SAYS 100%
Below is a copy of the supervisors contract that states upon completion of their 5th year they will reach 100% top pay.

From what I was told in a social site apparently you, (the writer)has had disagreements with the TWU local 100 over not winning the election in past years, hence all the venom spewing towards the head of the Union apparently. But lately after certain members of TWU jumped on me for apparently being irresponsible by sharing one of your articles which I thought were insightful. I see a lot of the members sharing them. I just want to ask is this true what local 100 union officials are talking about you?

i dont know why we need to worry abt it end of the day mta and twu100 will do what they want like i see in ours depots new hires still on probation getting better work then guys 5 years in…just for the benefit these females give to those officials union rep.

So just over 2 years on the job they are worried about the raises 3 years down the road this contract expires JANUARY 15 2017 so if there is a problem with the wording of the contract it should be corrected in the next contract if it already is not covered in any prior contract

lots of worries, and once they become union rep themselves, and the concern goes out the window. TIME TO STAT RACKING UP SOME SERIOUS MONEY, E.G., JOSE CASTELLON, TRACY YOUNG, RICHARD DAVIS, DONALD YATES, LIZ WILSON, WHO AT THE END OF THE DAY, THEY ARE NO WHERE TO BE FOUND, WORKING SOMEWHERE IN A CUBICLE AT THE UNION BUILDING, GETTING PAY AS USUAL!!

I have yet to hear or see anyone from the union clear this up either on FB or this site. If they truly felt they had to clear the air with these postings coming up, then someone would’ve done so already. The only way to know for sure is to see the actual contract itself. Is there anyway we can obtain a copy?
